Thumbs up Old Hickory Lake fishing report 2/18/2016

We got out today and the water temp was 40.5 at 9am and 45.6 1pm.I started with a jig and craw in wm red and I work everything for the first two hours with no takers. Then I used a crappie magnet under a float about three foot for another hour with no takers. So now I'm using my 1/8oz all white feather spinner bait and on the first cast I hook up with a 13" LM bass and after ten more cast I hook up again with a 11" LM bass. MR ED sorry to say did catch any. We were fishing in the creek next to lock 3 ramp where we always go.The water was fairly clear in the creek and muddy on the outside of the creek. There still is bait fish in the creek and when this weekend gets here the bit should pick up. So till the next time we get out good luck and GOD BLESS......woody

That's a nice bait for OH, a buzz-bait version for spring will be just as effective.

Picked up around 10 crappie with only 3 keepers this AM. Most on Garland Baby Shad, a few on minnows. Fish I found were really scattered. Water in main channel looked like you could plow and plant it, the creeks were better but pretty stained. Water 48-50. Things will only get better.....

Went out mid-day Saturday wit the kiddos from the bank by your side of town and caught one skipjack on my 3rd cast and a few bluegill bites but that was it. Saw lots of bait and skipjacks in the cove though.
