Default Cumberland river

Just noticed Old Hickory dam is pulling 68,000 cubic feet per minute (CFM).
The river below OHD is 25 feet above normal summer pool.
I think that might make for some tough fishing.

When the water used to get that high in the winter, I would catch sauger and walleye from the steps on the Hendersonville side of the dam. 1 oz football sauger jig tipped with a white curly tail grub crappie would be in the little Creek that comes in. Just after dark they would turn on. Wish I was closer!! Mike

Was below Cheatham dam yesterday. Managed 10 nice whites but they were hard to come by. Water should be good down there by Saturday. Creeks were to muddy to fish yesterday so all we caught were on the river bank in really small spots. The bigger eddies had to much current to fish effectively.

According to the TVA website "TVA Lake Info", summer pool elevation below Old Hickory Dam is 386.
Current level (02/21/2016) is 407. That means the river below OHD is 21 feet higher than summer pool.
