Default OH 9-21-15 stripers and cats

My daughter was out of school yesterday and wanted to do a little fishing, so she twisted my arm real hard and off we went. We started out catching about 30 7-8" gizzard shad. She drives the boat, and reads the sidefinder and sonar and tells me "now, left side", or right, while I stay ready with the cast net. System has been working real good, as we have been spending minimal time catching bait. After that, we scouted a good while but never found any concentrations of fish. We did find a nice hump in the river, coming up to 15' and falling off to 35'-40' gradually and decided to fish it. We anchored on top of the hump and fan casted 6 of the shad towards the base of the hump. It wasn't long before we were doing battle with some nice fat cats and a couple of nice stripers. We ended up releasing 3 nice channel cats, a small flathead, and a couple of stripers. Bri moved her personal best up from 15 to 18 pounds. This was an epic battle and they both had to be revived extensively to live another day.

I apologize for the sideways pictures, they were all upright before uploading, not sure what happened.

Yeah, I think they are just running through the area I've been fishing, cant seem to find them schooled. But setting up an ambush and waiting has been working.

I put a tracking device in the last 25lb'r I released on JPP trying out a new iPhone app (trophy tracker). You use a cheap tracker chip, implanted in the bait, then use the "find my iPhone" app to locate the fish again.

get the "trophytracker" app
search JPP25

for exact fish location

Seriously? Please tell me more about this app. I don't and never have owned a smart phone but this might push me over the edge.

Does it work? Is it safe for the fish? How the heck can it track the fish under water?

Anxiously waiting your reply...

I have wanted a golf ball with a tracking device in it for years.
