Default Couple of good stripers

Did well this weekend at cheatham dam, caught a personal best 39" ~23lb striper (one my buddy is holding) and lots of other good sized ones. still lots of skipjack for bait, no issue catching them. Was fairly slow until about 9 am then at 10 they really turned on and had a couple double hook ups. Sunday was slower for stripers but caught a good amount of cats including about a 10lb flathead on cut skipjack. Was pretty cold in the morning, but the water temp was around 75. beautiful day on the river for the most part.
Unfortunately i have to go to Louisiana for a month for training hope i dont miss too much (not to mention opening deer season)

Thanks mike, those stripers sure are fun. The big one slammed it in the rod holder and was just peelin drag as I wrestled it free and took me all the way to my backing knot. Should have took a pic of the holder as it was bent just slighty. always a good day when you leave and have to say "yeah I need to put more line on that reel" haha

Heading to cheatham Monday morning on the boat, first time striper fishing though! Bass and catfish have had my attention lately. Any tips? All I really know is to live line skips

Great looking fish Brewer! Wouldn't it be nice to fish every stinking day!? I'd love to be out there right now instead of living with my work cell phone on my ear all day pimping insurance claims.
