New to the forum and area, was wondering if anyone fishes lake Barkley. We went out this weekend and got a couple nice bass on Saturday. Green/pumpkin senkos Carolina rigged worked well for us!

Sounds like a nice pattern going.
I have not fished up there in a few years but Carolina is great and don't forget to toss texas in to the buck brush and jigs.
With the water temp coming down the shad will start balling in coves everywhere so find a bait that will match size and toss on outside edge of
shad balls and hopefully you will hit schools.
The bass in the pic is really nice.

nice catch and welcome to the forums!
I havnt fished barkley all that much, but have fished a bit around dover and alot of the cumberland. Always had good luck on a pumpkin seed worm with a chartreuse twisty tail, will usually bounce them along rocky shorlines. also on white spinner baits over ledges and white buzzbaits right up near the shore and on flats.

Hey Brewer, I may have been mistaken as to what is actually referred to as lake Barkley. What you described is exactly where we were fishing. We put in behind the courthouse in Dover and caught them along the rocks as you described. I would like to get in to some top water action this Friday, you usually cast the bayous and creeks off the main body??

According to TWRA "Barkley reservoir" runs from the barkley dam all the way to cheatham dam, but I usually just call it the cumberland river past dover haha, that launch right below the bridge is where i launch and you can even catch bass right in that cove. I know Ive caught some nice bass just east of the brigde that heads into dover, theres big pole that sticks out off an island and thats usually good, besides that I would fish the main channel creek entrances, anywhere the creek comes in and theres a ledge at about 8' to 15'. I havnt fished it too much this time of year, usually later fall or spring. 4" white suspending jerkbait has produced some fish for me as well

Try Little River around Blue Springs. Also accross the lake in Crooked Creek.
