Talking The Wife had a Good Day on OH!

Went out Friday. Launched at Cages Bend and slow rolled in the Channel marking some big hooks. Went into a cove and netted a bunch of threadfin. Not the 4" variety we were looking for but bigger than the thumbnail size that's plentiful this year. We'd pull up on a pile of 4 or 5, hit the anchor on the Motorguide and downline a small size 6 hook & 1oz weight right above their heads... Party Time! We were catching 2 at a time stripers & cats. I even had something strike an 8" gizzard shad I had on, but he wouldn't commit If this is any indication of how Fall is going to be, It's On!

Nice! It's been slow from the banks in Hendersonville. Are there good places to fish from shore at cages bend park?

Not really, unless you have 30 minutes to kill and you wanna pick up a couple. Bank fishings been hard lately. Used to be able to go to Avondale and tear them up, but no luck the last month. The only consistent bank action recently has been the OH Dam.

I've not fished that far downstream. Sounds like you two had a heck of a day and the great pics to prove it. Good going.

I was out there Sat and the boat traffic was brutal. Last week was on fire if you could find bigger threadfins. Nice catch!!

Thanks guys. Really the Size of the bait this year has been a problem. They are usually tiny or just down right Huge. They wouldn't take Blue Gill or Shiners, only medium size thread fins & creek chubs. I threw in a hair jig & some other assorted swim baits etc... No takers. They wanted some tasty live bait. But then again, I was parked having lunch and not trolling like the pros

Yeah Jim, went out today and caught at least a Dozen. Only 1 was over 10 lbs so they are little on the Puny side. But yes, they are biting. The Jigging Spoon was a winner today. They were biting live bait as well, but sometimes we would mark some fish, park and drop the spoon and BOOM! Fun to catch on my lighter bass tackle
