Default JPP Hybrids, cats, LM 8/20/15

Had some time today so decided to hit JPP for some bait and hybrids.

Went to Stewart's Creek for bait and it was in there....Stacked.

Made 3 throws and had 36 baits in the box. Made another throw and came up with about forty or fifty. Just left them in the net in the water and TM'd over to a guy casting a net who hadn't had a lot of luck. I emptied the net in his bucket and about 20 fell out in my boat so I picked them up and put them in my bait tank.

The other fella probably got 40 or more. Whatever, he had all he needed so they thanked me and motored off to go catfishing and I motored off to go hybrid huntin.

Went up in the Elm Hill area and caught four hybrids and one big (8.5 lbs) catfish. Turned'em all loose.

Bites died off so I pulled lines and took off scouting. For about two hours, couldn't mark a fish or at best, one here and one over there a mile away.

Finally found more than one in a quarter of a mile so I put down baits and caught 5 hybrids, 3 cats, and one LM bass in the next two hours.

Not a bad afternoon, not a great afternoon but it was an enjoyable outing .

Sounds like a fun day Merv. I need to get a cast net to catch bait. The other night when we were out my grand father said every time he could net a shad and get in on the hook he would catch a fish.
