Default Normandy lake at nigh....

Long shot here but anyone have experience on Normandy at night for Walleye? Looking at trying something new tonight with the Generators running at the Caney. I'm going to take the submersible light incase I need it. Any help is appreciated.

Nope but good luck!

I fished last night but only had three bites in three and half hours resulting in one striper then came home.

I had a lot of shad under the light on Wednesday evening but no bites. Nothing trolling during daylight either. Tough lake to fish

Well, it was not a great night to be on the water. There were fish everywhere on the sonar to start the evening, I only caught a small channel cat on a drop shot during this time . Around 9:30 everything decided to pop smoke and ninja vanish. No fish or bait fish on the sonar. I ended up with one 20" catfish on the jerk bait and another small spot. When paddling back we talked to some people crappie fishing under the lights and they were not having much luck either.

I don't know if we were doing it wrong or it was just one of "those nights" when the fish weren't going to bite no matter what we tried. We know how to throw jerkbaits but only managed a couple small bass and flatheads. No sign of Walleye. I got a tip via FB about a great Walleye spot to fish there in the Summer at night. We paddled out there and marked fish all over the place but that's all we caught.

Oh well, I'm heading back to the Caney hopefully Friday after work if the generation is calm and will fish until midnight. Maybe I'll find another 'Eye or two.

As a side note, Normandy sure is a pretty lake. Very Center Hill like except the water isn't as clear despite being so deep. I bet it's nice looking out there in the Fall.

I fished a crappie tournament with the middle TN club this past Friday night, my son and I had 8 fish when we went to weigh in, down side is my fish finders time was off by 1 hour. We went back out and caught several more before heading back early am. Two weeks ago I went up there to pre fish for the tourney and did catch 4-18" plus walleye and 15 nice crappie. I was jigging a 1/4 oz spoon at about 12 feet down in 30 fow, there was nothing below the thermocline (20 feet). It was the same this past Friday but I wasn't jigging a spoon. I also had 3 fish over 14" in the 1.7 lb range the first trip down there. I know, to little to late, it is an awesome lake to fish, just have to get use to fishing a thermocline if your looking for crappie.

Have a good one,
Ray

It's a beautiful lake isn't it? Part of the reason I go back even though I haven't had much luck out there.

It was a pretty area. The stars were beautiful. Wish the fish would have cooperated.

There should be a bunch of walleye in the lake. It's just on the other end of the state for me to fish as well as Tim's.
