Default Depth finder problem

Has anyone ever had their depthfinder turn itself on and off over and over again? My Lowrance has been doing it and I can't seem to figure out if its due to the heat under the cover or some kind of wiring problem.

I would think a wiring issue... Check all connections including the fuse holder all the way back to the battery or common terminal strip... (however yours is wired) ... If it still does it, run a new wire. If the problem still continues it may be the unit ... But I have never seen a unit do this per say ... <'TK><

Check your voltage, I have heard of that happening before and I believe it was a voltage issue.

My Elite 7 did that for a couple months. I checked the wiring and connections and found out that one was coming loose. Rewired it and I have had no problems since.

Its probably a bad connection somewhere. I think I'll use it as an excuse to upgrade....don't tell my wife that though!!

Sounds premeditated to me. I call shenanigans.

I'm thinking you are dead on. Had the same thing happen once.

(Voltage at the battery)

One of my Elite 5's will shut off some times when I have a voltage spike ie turn cd on when there is already a load on the system.

It's probably an amp drop at the batteries connection on my system but ya never know so you had better just get a new one.

Needs to be "rebooted". Call customer service and they can tell you what button combination to press. That is what I had to do with my lorance. .
