Default Great day.

Headed out to fish Laurel Hill....VFW and surrounding area. Got into a lot of Gills and very few shell crackers. Did get a nice shell cracker at VFW....not the biggest I have caught but it sure was colored up pretty. All fish caught twitching a Bison colored Trout Magnet on 2# test SOS line. Only fished for about 3 hours....heat got to me and had to leave. A large mouth that I guesstimated to be over 10 pounds wanted an 8.5 inch Gill I was fighting in. It was one heck of a commotion...LOL. The darn thing almost came out onto the bank. I didn't keep count....caught the fish at will off of a bed I found beating the bank. I had a great time battling these Gills today...life is good!

Regards

Thanks for the kind words. I will be the first to tell you I got lucky today. Had walked the banks in the heat and was about to head back home. I spotted a big bedding area but I saw no fish in the beds at all.....I sat on my bucket and just started casting. As I twitched the TM back through what I thought was an abandoned bed I saw a Gill turn on its side and inhale the Trout Magnet. I pulled fish after fish off those beds and I even stood on the bucket to get a better view and even with polarized sunglasses I didn't see any fish....but it was full of them...they camouflage pretty darn good.

Default Some more action.

Hit a couple of lakes this a.m. before it go too hot. The Gills are moving off bed but still managed to catch 40 or so fish. Had some Gill Crackers in the mix.......cross between a bluegill and shell cracker. All fish caught on a Bison colored Trout Magnet and 2.5# test line. Heat ran me off again. A bunch of drag pulling fun. Life is good!
