Nice trip. My grandfather went to priest yesterday and said that he could not find any crappie shallow. He thinks they have all spawned and moved on. I'm going Monday, Hope I still find some shallow.

Good deal John. I can tell you juice that on Nickajack.....Center Hill......KY Lake they are just starting the process of the spawn. Still plenty left to catch. I've been killing them at Center Hill. John.....will be in a new boat in about 7 weeks...then I can take you out...LOL.

I went last Friday afternoon (lower end of P.P.), and was surprised to catch fish without eggs, and some with . Caught some 10-15 ft, caught some 2-3 ft. Not sure what is going on, but I'm going to say that with all this crazy weather, there are still plenty that haven't spawned, but some that have. If I was going the next couple of days, I'd try anywhere from shallow to fairly deep. If that don't work, try trolling, which I didn't do Friday, but am thinking now might have been productive as scattered as they were. These cold fronts have probably pushed them out deeper some, if we had a few days of really warm, sunny, stable weather, I'm guessing they would be up really shallow. Just my 2 cents from my experience on Priest.

Some may or may not know but the crappie spawn will take place over several weeks...no matter the body of water. As a group spawns another group will move in...spawn...and the cycle keeps going like that for a few weeks...and maybe more. Survival of the specie. They will not all spawn at once.

I think there's still a good couple of weeks left if the weather will cooperate.
