Default Elk River Weekend

Hi All!

My wife and I are headed to the Elk River for the first time this weekend. We will be there Friday-Sunday fishing and camping.

It will be our FIRST trip to the river, but plan on fishing from Tims Ford down to the Old Dam Rd. We likely will fish it in segments from Tims Ford down to the Ferris Bridge, or from Ferris to the Old Dam Rd.

QUESTION: Does anyone have suggestions on where to camp? We can rough it, or hit a well established place. Anyone have any suggestions/experience?

Thanks!!!!

The obvious one is Tim's Ford State Park. It's on the North side of the lake and you have to do some driving to get around to the tailwater, but it's a nice park and you can book your site online.

They have campgrounds and also some cabins available too.

I have stayed at Tim's Ford Park and floated the Elk, so if you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me.

Billy
