Default Hidden Pond - March 29, 2015

Took off after evening worship service to fish a pond on public land. Got there at 6:30 and fished till 7:30. Caught around ten bluegill that were surprisingly large.

Bluegill were caught on a bison TM. Best retrieve was slow and steady.

Schools of bluegill would periodically rush toward shore. I couldn't tell if they were being chased or not. But numerous casts with a 4" slider grub produced no bass.

I switched to the opposite bank and managed two bass on a finesse worm z rigged on a 1/16 oz spider head.

Thought this one was big...

Then I caught this one...

Beer can used for reference only. The bluegill had thick shoulders too.

LOL...

There was a little boy feeding the ducks with bread at a pond nearby yesterday. After he walked away with his grandma, I eased up to fish and there were what seemed like 500 bluegill sitting looking at me. One swoop of the cast net and my freezer would have been stocked for the year.
