Default Pickwick

Fished Pickwick today and caught a limit of 30 crappie all from 11-14 inches. I gave the fish to someone who needed them much more than I. Just a fun day...and taught me the lesson of colors...that I already knew but my mind was just in a daze today. Fished over by the lock with a Bison Trout Magnet for an hour catching some whites and a bunch of yellow bellies. I was thinking "How come no crappie?" Well it occurred to me over the years I have caught all my crappie down there on a Midnight Blue Crappie Magnet. So I put on a Purple Redemption Trout Magnet and it was on. A great day.

Great catch alpha. It's amazing how the color change works. Are those fish just hanging out on the rip rap or is there brush or a tree down there?

Thanks.....No trees in there...just a lot of big rock. For several years I killed the crappie down there on a Midnight Blue Crappie Magnet.....a lot of folks down there call me "Midnight Blue". But for some reason I just completely forgot that for a while today. That spot from now until end of May will be full of Smallies...crappie.....big Gills....and right before sunset almost every day...schooling stripers.
