Default Anyone ever put in here?

It's not open, been closed for as long as I can remember. It looks like there is still access and I have seen people at it. It's close to a few of my crappie holes and would make a paddle faster than Poole knobs ramp.

Where is it closed off at? Right at the ramp? If that's the case get as close as you can to that area where the land is the most narrow before widening up and maybe it's not too bad of a drag through the woods. That's all TWRA public land so you can park wherever you want and drag the yak to the lake.

Maybe, maybe not. That is considered part of Long Hunter. I know at bakers grove if you try to fish from the bank at the best spot for hybrids (this has not happened to me personally) but I have been told by several the ranger will tell you that you have to park at what I call the main office inside Long Hunter and walk from there. One guy even told me he pulled his boat on the bank and got out and was fishing from the bank at the road bed point and the ranger told him he would get a ticktet if he didn't leave. Not a fan of some of the crap at Long Hunter, also so much land is closed to hunting because of them. How can land so close to Fate Sanders be considered Long Hunter? Those people will take the whole lake if they can.

The parking lot is overrun and they have some rocks blocking part of the road ( on google earth). I am going to check it out Sunday and if I can get there.... which should not be a problem in my truck I am going to fish the area. I'm just wondering if I will have any issues with LEO, not worried about people breaking in, nothing worth a damn in my truck anyways.

I got ticketed with a couple buddies one time for jumping off the cliffs at Long Hunter. The two girls with us were still climbing up the cliffs soaking wet as the ranger wrote us guys tickets. He said he didn't "see" them jump so he can't write them up. A $3 fine $97 court cost.

Impossible. Large pile of dirt/rocks. Its even difficult to walk over and around. All overgrown with brush and trees.

The road is closed about a quarter mile from the ramp. It's been closed for at least 11 years. We used to go "mudding" over there when I was in high school. Last time I went out there, RCSO was sitting at the gate writing reports.

Not a safe place to leave vehicle. One reason it was closed. Lots of crime, break ins and worse. Can get thru with a atv. Just too far off road and ify. I have deer hunted and left my vehicle but will not again. I have walked the entire rocky area.

thank you for the heads up. I'm not worried about break ins or worse... I can carry firearms that are more than adequate to handle the worse situations plus I don't keep anything in my truck worth stealing and don't mind replacing a piece of glass. I think I am just going to make the mile long paddle instead of trying to get to the ramp. Sucks that I can't put in here because it's close to my favorite location to catch bass anytime of the year.

I had a friend who lived on Weakley near there. He said the ramp was closed 20 or so years ago due to it being one of the lower used ramps in the area compared to Fate Sanders, Lamar Hill, etc. Budget cuts is what he said. He did say when open there were a lot of vehicle break in's, assaults, fights, etc. down there. I don't think that land is part of Long Hunter State Park unless the Corps of Engineers deeded it over to them in one of the "government land deals". I think the land is still owned by the Corps. I am in that area frequently and I have never seen State Park Rangers or other personnel in there. I have seen RCSO coming out of that road from time to time. Typically, the Corps relies mostly on the Sheriff Dept to patrol their areas vs. State Parks who has their own Rangers.
