Default Lunch gills 3/9/15

Hit the hole at lunch today and caught several fish. The water was cold and so were the gills but they were rising all over the shallow end. Caught them on a black/chart TM under a float and without.

I am ready for warmer weather though and will drag a photo of one of the gills in a bit when it charge back up.

Fun times ahead!!!!

Congrats to you. I'm pumped to get back on the water. If the rain holds off hoping to try Pickwick or Nickajack end of week or next.

Regards

Thanks Alpha.

It was a real change of pace throwing these 1/32 oz lures over the 1-2 oz ones I have been accustomed to for the last several months.

I am getting back out this weekend too. Will be on the hunt for Kayak Wars pts.

Is it bad that I'm fishing G-ville in my bass boat this weekend and all I can think about is all the Kayak wars points I could miss out on?

Good luck on G-ville. One day I want to see what that lake is all cracked up to be.

But yes...Kayak Wars will definitely strain your mind. You will find yourself questioning wasting trips when not in a kayak, cussing 7 3/4" fish for not being 8" and cheering on a 18" Drum. They say it changes a man.

Mike
I know Mike knows and Juice I think Kayak Wars is new to you, but one has to put a lot of fish in the kayak in that contest. I started out doing it one year but I and my team never got off the ground. I followed it and was shocked to see how many fish some were posting every day. So what is my point...ya'll better get them kayaks in the water...LOL.

No kidding Alpha. One guy put 21 hybrids on the board the first day this year. I actually scored the first fish in the whole world this 2015 season. Made for a cool pic.

I noticed. There are some teams with large amounts of points already. It does not help that we had two snow/ice storms and now all this rain. Early spring has been wasted for us. My team will be playing catch up due to the slow start but it's ok, still gives you another reason to get out and fish.

This is simply unacceptable.

I am the same way with you guys as far as the total obsession. The competitive part is great and camaraderie as well but the biggest thing for me is it has changed my overall fishing mindset. I have planned more, focused more and chased wider variety of fish than if I was just wetting a line on the weekend. It has got to at some point make you a better all around angler.
