Default Gsp 2/24/15

Stripers were ready to play this evening!
I caught 4 stripers, 3 in the twenties and one smaller 4 lb'er.
The guys in the boat next to me caught 6 in the evening and 3 earlier in the day. They had a couple in the 30's, some 20's and a couple small ones.
Water Temps at Flippers was 38 degrees, GSP channel was 55-56.
Everything was on artificials, they didn't seem to want live bait today..
I caught about 400 threadfins for me and Woody. We're going to grind them up and make chum out of them.
Headed out to JPP early AM for some bass action then searching for hybrid/stripers to win the tournament this weekend.
Gonna put a whoopin on JK Travecca!

Congrats on the catches! I need another good trip up to the steam plant this winter. Good luck with the hybrids/stripers on Priest this weekend. I would give you my secret tournament winning location.......but, I doubt you need it

Nice going Merv! I'd like to go once more before they leave. Maybe Saturday morning. How have the crowds been? Are they starting to back off?

Merv, do you Chum while you troll? and do you notice a difference in catch rate? I have never thought about chumming for fish other than catfish.

When I lived in Maryland we would chum for stripers all the time because you could keep them at the boat all day feeding............woody

All i can picture is the chum scene from jaws! "were gonna need a bigger boat" and the look on his face! lol.
I never would have thought to chum for them...makes sense though.

not to mention you can chum up some monster catfish there too I saw a guy couple years back snatch one in the GSP channel that went 55lbs while he was striper fishing with livies. Biggest Cat I'd ever seen on OHL
