Default Old Hickory Crappie

Think I might hit the lake in the morning. Sounds like I need to target 15-25ft of water. Any suggestions on where to start looking for structure at these depths? Will put in anywhere from the dam to Odums Bend. What you guys think?

Check the trees from the boat house on the main river channel at Langford Cove then that side of the bank back towards the Dam to the next cove.

Travis do you mean the large boat house that is like two boat houses in one? That houses probably 50 or so boats? And then fish the river bank going towards the dam?

Yes.

I've caught crappie in that stretch between there and the next cove towards the Dam.

If I was not trying to whack a Thunder Chicken tomorrow I would be crappie fishing and I would be fishing less than 5' depths on any wood cover I could find. Last weekend water temps in mid-lake were 58-59 and I hammered crappie up shallow.

Update: TWRA has removed all crappie from Old Hickory... or aliens. Went this evening and caught my usual. One keeper, about 5 dinks, and about 5 blue gill. The next time someone is going and has room let me know... the next time someone wants to go and knows what they are doing: let me know. I will be going tomorrow but I REFUSE to put a crappie pole in my boat, tomorrow will be a relaxing day of LM fishing. After I recover tomorrow someone is going to have to have some sympathy and show me whats up. I think my problem is confidence in a jig. I throw a float and minnow out and let it sit while i throw a jig. Then i catch something on the minnow. Throw it back out, catch something else before I get bit on the jig. 20 minutes later, the jig pole is laying in the bottom of the boat. Every time.
