Oh yea I took a 2wd Ford escape down there only one spot I had to give it a good bit of gas to get over coming back up, going down was fine, it hadn't rained In a while. When it rains it can get very slick and 4wd wouldnt even help. The road in places is a creek (reminds me of my homestate wv). At the bottom of the road theres and old ford across the river were guys would take their lifted jeeps and trucks. The trail is on the other side of the river and is only really crossable at low water and atvs are not allowed on the other side of the river as its a hiking trail, there are however atv trails farther down the river. Heres a link for the area map pdf
