Collins, Caney Fork, Rocky, Barren Fork, and Calfkiller Rivers...
 

Between these rivers, which is the best bet for some good sized smallmouth? Looking to narrow down some options. Or heck, are there other rivers/creeks nearby that would be better?

Way up caney has some huge smallies but not really much access. Barren fork is beat to death they are there but hard to catch. The Collins is good as long as you can stay away from kayak points. Never have fished the rocky or calf killer .

Scotts gulf or savage gulf should have some good sized smallies, tough drive down to scotts but rewarding. Should be beautiful there now with the leaves near peak

Thanks for the info! I used it and fished Savage Gulf yesterday for a couple hours... Caught quite a few small smallmouth. Biggest came from the big hole at the falls, only about 10" tho.

How is it down river from there? That was as far as I got... Besides the falls, I didn't find much deeper water.

I am meeting some old buddies in Pikeville for a weekend trip soon. As far as getting to the Bee Creek area or Scotts Gulf area, is that possible via 4 wheeler or...

Oh yea I took a 2wd Ford escape down there only one spot I had to give it a good bit of gas to get over coming back up, going down was fine, it hadn't rained In a while. When it rains it can get very slick and 4wd wouldnt even help. The road in places is a creek (reminds me of my homestate wv). At the bottom of the road theres and old ford across the river were guys would take their lifted jeeps and trucks. The trail is on the other side of the river and is only really crossable at low water and atvs are not allowed on the other side of the river as its a hiking trail, there are however atv trails farther down the river.
