When Salty and I went last week, we started very near daybreak and fished until 10:30, hitting mainlake points and gravelly shorelines.

We dragged spinner rigs with nightcrawlers off the bottom with bottom bouncers, hitting all kinds of depths, from 12 ft to 25 ft. Don't know if we just fished on a day when walleyes weren't in the area or just weren't active.

Talked to a few other guys fishing for walleyes and no one had caught one.

We watched the video of a local guide catching walleyes on Normandy and fished the exact same areas he fished, at the same depths and speeds, and using the same baits he used.

Maybe we'll get them next time!

Did you hunt for them with the side imaging?

Merv, the gentlemen i talked to was trolling shad rap 5s and small flicker shads and had done well on previous trips, i tried it all he told me to try and do and went the same places he told me and got no hits, i marked a lot of fish but they were all suspended and look to me as if they were on a recliner feet propped up burping a big meal!, it has been my luck chasing them things!!

I talked to a local who was just putting in as we were leaving. He told me the same thing in regards to the Flicker Shads and SR5's. He said he had gone to a tackle shop and bought everyone they had.

I should have gotten his number and called him later to see how had done, but I forgot.

And no Randy, I didn't see any on my SI, although I did mark a number of fish on the 2D and lots of structure and brushpiles in my travels.

Salty, im very persistent, matter of fact since last years spring i have been trying for walleyes in different ways and fashions, different locations too, tried center hill, tims ford and dale hollow combined these three places i probably logged 10 trips and for 3 years on Normandy as well and i have yet to catch a walleye, i will only take this abuse for so long before i decided to not waste my time anymore and try for different species, so after gills, crappies and kentucys ill go from now on and hope for a different outcome, it can only get better right??

Damn Transplanted! Sounds like SAMBOLIE has been following you from fishing trip to fishing trip. Just the mention that he MIGHT visit a lake, puts the fish off their feed for two weeks!

When he actually visits a lake, the catch rate will drop 98% for the next month. The only reason there's a 2% chance of anything biting is some fish are just totally stupid!

It could also get worse. You could end up in a boat with Merv.

I hear you Merv! I think the Sambolie curse fell on me, just for good laughs of corse and Sambolie you are right too although i could get an education on the use of the side imaging so that would make the trip worthwhile!

Default catching any catfish on the crawlers?

Are you guys trolling nightcrawlers in Normandy catching any catfish at the depths you've been describing?
