Laurel Hill 6-21-2012
2 Attachment(s)
Finally got into some Gills today. Started fishing at around noon.....did not catch any until 4:30. Then I caught 30 straight. All were about 1/2 pound. Would have stayed until dark but started too early and was pooped...LOL. Usually at Laurel Hill Gills can be caught any time during the day...but not this year. So I think when fishing there will try to go either very early or be there at around 5:30 in the afternoon to start.

Good work, that's hardcore fishing in that heat. Be careful drink plenty of water, and protect you skin from direct sunlight.

Nice going Alpha. You are what I would call a dedicated fisherman. I live for checking out this site every morning (while I'm sitting at my desk at work, btw LOL) to see what you or one of the other members caught.
Some day! |
Yeah, I would say you know a thing or two about the heat. Good luck, I think I'm going to start fishing more at night. I used to work in the field, but have had a job in the office since 2004, and have gotten used to the 65 deg temps all year round.

I work outside, and I am not spending my fishing time suffering in high humidity/temperature...which is why the vast majority of my summer fishing is at night. Plus, I feel the fishing is better for the species I chase.

I am another night owl mainly due to the kids schedule of when I can get out. But I have definitely grown to like it. It doesn't matter the species or time of year as I have been known to wade fish at night in the winter.
