Cumberland river
Just noticed Old Hickory dam is pulling 68,000 cubic feet per minute (CFM).
The river below OHD is 25 feet above normal summer pool. I think that might make for some tough fishing. |
Wow. Thanks for the heads up!

So, no kayak fishing.......

Stones is way up also, you cant use the pull around launch at heartland the waters up that much, cheatham was pulling 90k yesterday
|
When the water used to get that high in the winter, I would catch sauger and walleye from the steps on the Hendersonville side of the dam. 1 oz football sauger jig tipped with a white curly tail grub crappie would be in the little Creek that comes in. Just after dark they would turn on. Wish I was closer!! Mike

Fished old hickory today and I can confirm the current. I don't think I've ever seen the current moving that fast on the hick

How bad was the color?

Last week I drove to MT and all the Rivers were way up, must be a wet winter every where.
|
It was pretty dirty. Took some searching to find some cleaner water
|
On Friday downtown was flooded over the fence that is on the platform next to the river so thats about 10-12 feet above normal and it was ripping

According to the TVA website "TVA Lake Info", summer pool elevation below Old Hickory Dam is 386.
Current level (02/21/2016) is 407. That means the river below OHD is 21 feet higher than summer pool. |
