Default Where to go now that it's hot? Place to catfish?

Well it's already that time where jpp is starting to get busy and the weather is starting to get hot. Is there anywhere else to go now? I'm guessing night fishing it the way to go... any catfish spots on jpp? Should I try the river?

Man O Man. I went to Priest on Saturday for the first time in a very long time. Fate Sanders was nuts! We went out around 5pm to fish for a few hours and there was no spots to park, grass full and like 18 boats either trying to put in or get out. I think if I were going to catfish I would go at night. Growing up that is how we always did it on Priest and usually did well. What I look for is a nice flat right off the main where fish can move up and feed at night.

Default Hot Days

yes, they are on bed. Catching a few here and there since they all don't spawn at the same time but give it 3 weeks and the flood gates will open.

Look for holes. Deep holes and creek mouths. Below dams will also get crazy soon. Below dam from June end to September is fantastic.

Exclamation It's Cat time

When the Mayflies hatch the cats are on flats next to deep water as stated above.

I've had nights on Old Hickory where I could only fish with one rod because they were biting so fast.

My dad, the youngest and I are going Sunday to priest for some cats. It's not going to be an ideal time around noon to start but you've got to take what you can. Hopefully we put a few fish in the boat.

Caught one, lost one. We did a little bit of both crappie fishing and catfishing. We got a later start than wanted so we missed the early morning period.

What are we using for bait ? I have some cut shad frozen. I haven't caught a CF since Jan and that was by accident using a dead minnow drifting for crappie..LOL

Stanky shrimp. Sugar free Strawberry or cherry koolaid and chicken/shrimp works well too.
