It's a trip worth taking. Yes, you'll likely be targeting rainbows and browns. You can easily float it in a jon boat. Depending on flow, you'll likely be "bumping" your way down with much more than a flat bottom and minimal outrive length.
Rainbows kept in a livewell make AWESOME baits to float the Caney Fork on the way home.
