Tailwater Below Dale Hollow?

Would like to explore a little over towards Dale Hollow. In looking at the map, the access sees to be on the left side (facing the dam) using campground road. Looks like the hatchery is there too. Is this a correct observation or am I missing something? Also is there an entrance fee to this area? Is this primarily a trout fishing area? Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

Hey Fish,
It's a trip worth taking. Yes, you'll likely be targeting rainbows and browns. You can easily float it in a jon boat. Depending on flow, you'll likely be "bumping" your way down with much more than a flat bottom and minimal outrive length.

Rainbows kept in a livewell make AWESOME baits to float the Caney Fork on the way home. ;)

Yes, that's a hatchery.

Sorry . . . don't remember launch/camp fees.

Last time I floated the Obey there was no launch fee.
It is only 6 miles from dam to Cumberland and can be launched near Cumberland then go up steam.

Get ready for beautiful float.
