Simple answer is no. It has to be a legal size trout to use.

Also, if you purchase trout from a trout farm , as I did, and have more than the legal daily limit in your possession. You must have a receipt from the Hatchery from which you purchased them. Randy is correct when fishing with wild caught trout about the size. Purchased trout can be any size. <'TK><
