Default Crappie depth

I rarely fish for crappie on Percy Priest but I'm going to try for some today.
The water temps were about 53-54 yesterday, 3/28.
Any knowledgeable guess as to what depth the crappie are holding at?

MERV
My rig is in the shop and I haven’t been out in over 3 weeks. Sorry, I can’t help but I hope others will jump in here.

Merv,
If you are casting to them start in 2-4 and work your way out if you need to. Pulling jigs I would concentrate in 6-8 feet. Good luck hope to here a great report.

Found fish NOWHERE!
Fished from Long Hunter, back down to Suggs Creek.
From there to Old Hickory cove to Hamilton creek, then to Bear Island then to Stewart Creek, back up to Long Hunter.
Then went around Pig Island, out in front of Hole in the Wall.
Covered the lake!

Merv,
Start at Fate Sanders, fish a jig on a fixed bobber start probing from 1-6' when you get the depth watch your water temp. They will stay relatively shallow right on the bank if it gets deeper around rock and such down to past Hobson Pike Bridge/Hole In Wall. Blue and White or Red Chartreuse pending the water color. My best ever Crappie have been during Turkey season. I don't know the conditions at home, but the time is right.

Looked like you were running your usual pattern in the Poole's Knob area Saturday Merv (along with everyone else trying to catch a bite before Easter Sunday). Do any good? I know holding position in that wind was fun . . .

Didn't do too good, 10 fish, mostly small. Caught a couple hybrids, a couple crappie, one largemouth and the rest small whites.
