Default Old Hick April 19th

Fished Drakes creek today after work, fished for 3 hrs and caught 12 bass with 4 keepers. Had a GIANT break off a treble hook on a 2.5 squarebill!! Rest of the fish came on a shakey Head deal with the 4inch worm. Everything was extremely fat and still gorging themselves. Y’all get out there while the gettin is good!!

Nice job Skillet. Most of the lakes around here are fishing good right now. It's the right time for everyone to be out there fishing.

. Picture wasn’t showing so I put it on here again. Also here’s a picture of the first keeper. Nothing special, avg 14” fish.

Thats a great day! What were you targeting (docks, rocky banks, wood, etc.)?

I was out Wednesday night around Station Camp, and didn't have as much success. Got one decent fish off a rock bank on a spinnerbait. Really low visibility around that area.

The water was dirty in drakes also. I was hitting rocky banks that had wood on them. The smaller fish I caught were shallow, and the deeper fish were in 5-8’ of water. I haven’t done well with spinnerbaits this year....been more finesse tactics for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve caught fish on crank baits, but just not the quality.
