Default Old Hickory 5-3-2018

Everyone talks about people snooping around this site stealing info, so im not sure how much to put in a report..

Put in at Sanders Ferry today around 3:00, fished the cove directly across and up into Drakes Creek till around 6:00, nothing... finished the day around the Shutes Branch area, 2 keepers and lost a really nice one at the boat due to getting tangled in the trolling motor.

Both fish came off of a rocky bank in 1-4' of water near submerged logs. Fished a spinnerbait, chatterbait, and jig the first couple hours, the Ned Rig caught the only 2 fish of the day, fished a frog the last hour of the day and had a couple of blow ups.

No clue on water temperature, my ancient fish finder does not tell temp.

Tylerreid1234, I fished with a buddy at OH today as well. The fish were on a pretty solid wood pattern in pockets. Main lake pockets mostly and some creek pockets in drakes. We did catch a few out in the middle of the shallow drakes creek pockets. Those fish were sitting on hard bottom in 3-5 fow. If we were fishing a flat shallow pocket then the fish were positioned on wood well off the bank, but if the shore had a little depth(3-4 feet) close by then we were catching them on wood close to the bank. We ended up with 8 keepers( biggest 3.5lbs), and we 25-30 bass total. I think we would have caught a lot more in Drakes if the water wasn't so stained.

I forgot to mention that almost every fish we caught looked fresh. Most were pale like they just moved up. A lot of them were fat with eggs, but not overly fat like they were ready to bust. I didn't catch one fish that looked skinny and beat up.

Nice, I haven't had a day on Old Hickory this year where I've got into numbers like that.. mostly just a fish here and there. The one I lost today looked about 3.5, you would've thought I lost an 8 pounder though... lol and the water was really stained today in Drakes, I didn't fish there long.
