Default Cumberland River 6/18

Skillet and I spent a few hours out on the Cumberland River Sunday morning. We caught good numbers and one really nice smalljaw.

Always be careful on the rivers, they were pushing 22,000cfs when we left..

We used the ramp.. As long as the water is up, that ramp is pretty easy..

That definitely qualified as a HAWG! You guys need to get to Walmart and buy you a digital luggage scale for $8.00.
I checked mine on a 37 lb dumbell and it was dead on.
No more guessing...

It started pushing my little boat over 3mph by 9am, so we pulled the trolling motor up and went to the dam and fished around the spillways, but didn't catch anything there. We had caught a lot of small mouth and a couple largemouth, just no size to them except that one. Not even a top water bite which was odd for the river at 5:30-6am

That fish was a 6lb smallmouth all day I believe.

Good going guys that's a nice one there's some toads in that stretch, there's even some big largemouth in there it's a good place to catch the black bass slam.

We have completed that black bass slam a couple times. We tried to catch some gar that were schooled up but couldn't get one to commit. Had a lot slaps at lures though.
