Anybody been to the steam plant yet this fall or heard anything about the rockfish getting thick in there yet?

I went Wednesday before Thanksgiving. There was about 8 boats most of the day. Water temp was the same as the main channel which was 52-54. No striper action yet, but that can change quickly. I talked to one boat they caught 2 skippies on their fly rod. Also said they were out the Sunday before and there was about 30 boats. Some tilapia fisherman doing ok. I caught about 15 smaller fish a mix of bluegill, largemouth and a few white bass. I fished with a trout magnet and a split shot. The barrier is in the same place as it has been the last few years.

Flippers is the best ramp but the closest is Cole's Ferry. You can idle across the river on those bone chilling mornings but there is no dock and it can get crowded.

I have stopped by there a few times in the last couple weeks and there hasn't been much bait at all. We have caught Bass and Crappie here and there but not much to speak of. Tilapia guys are there and what they have caught is small.
On a side note we did see a monster buck on the left side of the canal as your going in last week. He was a wide 12 pointer as far as we could tell.

Rule for GSP...worst, coldest, ugly day is your target. Daylight x2 hours then catch Talipia and go home.
