Default Fall bite has arrived

Typical fall fishing, but when you find them, there’s a lot of them!! Took my 14 yo brother fishing Friday and it was on! 1st cast and my rat-l-trap got eaten! I thought well, it’s gonna be a good day or that’s the only one I’m gonna catch. Turned out to be a good day. For the next couple hours we didn’t catch a thing. I picked up a spinner bait and it was on! Ended up putting 30bass total in the boat in about 5-6hrs fishing a stretch of grass that was maybe 50 yards long. Just kept going up and down it. The bass were gorging on shad big time. I caught a 12”er that had to have been close to 2lb!! Lol. He was so fat his head wouldn’t touch the carpet. We ended up having to switch back to the trap. Seemed like they got use to the spinner bait. Had to burn both of them. Couldn’t slow roll anything. Went back Saturday with my 18 yo brother and we put 10 in the boat in 2.5 hrs. Same area. I love this time of the year!!

We took a break and tried to catch some crappie. Caught one right off the bat and thought that was gonna work out, but I was wrong. Spent about an hour and half on that and went back to bass fishing.

No kidding. This is knee number 2 so she knows what is ahead of her. Did you catch anything on top like buzzbait/horny toad or Whopperplopper? When you say grass are you talking the cane grass edges?

Is that an Aubarn jacket your 18yo brother has on or did he lose a bet?

Skillet you da man. Your post makes me want to get rid of all my fishing junk. My son and I fished hard from 8-2:30 Friday and only had 2 short fish.We fished shallow to 10'. Grass, rock, wood, main channel, back of creeks and coves. I hate the fall.
Maybe it's the HAT. You look lot better. If possible. Lol

Sorry to hear that!!! I’m not looking forward to those. Nothing came on top water. I had fish busting and pulled a sexy dawg and a popper threw them as they were busting shad and didn’t get touched. Some came off the water willow at the bank edge but there’s coves with some deep grass in 4-8’ fow. They were gang busting shad.

Just had to find main lake points with grass and shad. The fish are there. They haven’t moved to the back of the creeks as of Saturday. But we will see come Sunday when I get back out there. The hat was just to keep me from getting shot! Lol

Yes my brother was wearing an Aubarn shirt. He’s a barner fan unfortunately. I tried to teach him right but he didn’t listen. He did lose a bet with me once....he won’t do it ever again!!!

He wasn’t. And he wasn’t gonna honor the bet we made. It took a lot of convincing. My youngest brother though.....he loved it!!! 😂😂😂
