Like a fool I put in at 7 points around 7:30 to chase the Crappie. I should have known better, there were about 3 other nuts besides me. LOL brutality cold and an East wind. Spider rigged minnows all morning and not one crappie. But had a little excitement with this 6 pound 4 oz LM.

Ok that pic made it, I caught my first crappie around 12:30 and ended up with 14 good ones. The water was pretty dirty and 54 degrees. I caught them in 13 FOW.
Well no go on a pic of fish. (Fatal error)

I can't see the pic but a 6lber is a big one. Did you catch that fish on the main lake or in a creek?

Judging by the tail, that fish has spawned.....or it’s curled up under somehow. It’s not bloody, and looks kind of skinny....could this be a post spawned from the warm weather of February???

Awesome catch though, not downplaying that at all. Must’ve been a blast on crappie rigs!! Just curious about the tail is all.

After I took the horrible pics and let it go, I realized I should have looked at it closer. It was skinny for how big it’s mouth was. It didn’t seem like it was full of eggs. The Crappie are full and have bloody veins in the egg sacks.
