Default Hugh McNaughten

After a few weeks battling an illness and being away from the show, "Southern Woods & Waters", Hugh passed away early this morning. I don't know any details other than that as I just saw a posting on FB. Rest easy, Big Man. Thanks for your dedication to outdoor life in Tennessee.

I hate to hear. I knew Hugh from connections with the National Wild Turkey Federation. Prayers for his wife and family.

What a shame. Who's gonna do the show? I haven't watched in a while but Brandon Dowdy was co-hosting last time I watched. Brandon was one of my best friends growing up. We did a lot of deer hunting together and graduated in the same class together at Mt Juliet High School

Yes Hugh and that laugh will he missed. Not sure if it was related to his latest problem he had after he stepped on a nail and it got really infected. Hugh told me at one time he thought they may have to amputate his foot. He was on IV antibiotics and seemed to get through it. I talked to some other close friends this morning. Sounded like he got up and then had a heart attack. That’s the initial thing I’m hearing. We became great friends through Joy Church years ago. He asked me several times a few years ago to go on his show and I’m glad I finally did, we had the best time. He was always a great guy and touched so many people in the outdoor world for sure.
