Here is one that was caught on JPP ... http://www.fishingtn.com/attachment....5&d=1377224354
.... But it is a small fry compared to five crappie that I caught up stream from Sligo on Center Hill that weighed in at 10.3 pounds .. a few years ago ... I'll try to find the post. One of the Crappie was 2 inches thick through the back... <'TK><

That would be one he'll of a stringer, 10.3 lbs in five fish!
I'd LOVE to catch a stringer like that. When you takin me fishin at Sligo????

White crappie have vertical darker bars on them, and black crappie are just speckled up. You will be able to ID them pretty quickly the more you catch.
Blacks tend to fight a little better than the whites. Thanks for at bringing up the lake record topic, I feel sure I have released a lake record drum. It would not surprise me if the lake record white crapppie has not been eaten. I'm now aware of the record if I catch one close to it.
