Default Some big august snook and tarpon in the everglades

Tarpon and snook fishing was great today in the everglades north of islamorada. We caught fresh mullet first thing and fished off the beaches of cape sable. Got 4 real big snook in the 10 to 15 lb range (thats big for this area!). Also caught 2 out of 5 tarpon, losing a big 100 lb fish. A couple baby goliath grouper too. Later in the day we chummed up some small pilchards and got into some smaller snook and caught a couple more baby tarpon in the 5-10 lb range. It was a stellar day, fishing in august in the florida keys can still be very good despite the heat!
