I always hook on my kill switch and always have a vest on whilst running
as I once went airborne one evening with a buddy hahaha damn wave was a silent one on a dark night on Old Hickory!
As a passenger I went from co-pilot seat to front deck in a blink of the eye but luck was that I stayed in the boat.
Unlike my buddy (running fot) I never run over 50 at night.

I've started using it every time I run. I never did when I was younger and had a partner but now that I fish alone it's hooked up, been that way for the last 3 years.

the logic makes no sense to anybody, even me....but when im on the river in the winter alone, running the big motor i wear vest and kill switch. if there is somebody with me, i never do.
summer time i never do unless its night time.
We all know we should and need to, but for me, its cause i never got into the habit of putting either of them on as soon as i got in the boat. lousy excuse i suppose but habit is habit and good or bad they are hard to break.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has a bad habit with the kill switch... I guess I put too much faith in the hotfoot, but after seeing this I may try and break a bad habit...

Easy fix... Seat belts and kill switch under seat...Of course government mandate. Glad they where ok

What happens when the driver/passenger are either unconscious or injured and can't release the belts if the boat stops upside down?
Perhaps water soluble belts?

As most of you know, for a number of years I have had a new interest in powerboat racing. My partner is a retired tunnel boat racer ... And the first thing he told me is you need to be thrown free from the boat and with the approved PFD's and kill switch your head will be above water with face up .. And the boat will be dead in the water. Now with that said any boat that goes faster than 100 MPH requires a capsule and seat belts ... But in these races you either have safety boats or Copters overhead with divers to cut you out.
