Default Crappie at Laurel Hill.

After being on a 3 week trip to Yellowstone had to go try out a new crappie rod.....did not even take a rod to Yellowstone with me. Many years ago Laurel Hill was a great place to crappie fish. I think it has returned to that. The lake has exploded with crappie. I am assuming this has to do with the explosion of shad now in the lake. For you bass guys Laurel Hill is worth a visit. While it has always had numbers they were stunted..thus why you could keep 10 any size. Well they are stunted no longer and they are on a feed right now. Here is link to video...if you want to get straight to the fishing go to 8:31 to skip all my rod talk. There are only 3 fish in the video due to camera issues. I am on my 3rd GoPro.....it locks up, and or you go to process video and there is no video....or there will be video but no audio. I caught several dozen crappie and they were all legal...some were in the 12 inch range. Could be a good place to hunt crappie come winter.

Regards

Thanks TK. What has been really enlightening over the past 6 years is watching Laurel Hill change from the sonar perspective. Six years ago hardly any shad...now huge schools of shad all over......only a few small schools of crappie....now huge schools of crappie all over the lake.
