Enjoyed today fellas. Wound up staying at the pond and caught about 40-50 bluegill. It was as much fun to hand out TMs and watch others catch them just as easily.

Yep Great Day !! <'TK><
I guess do to the first of the warming weekends and ball games and weddings and the usual get out side after a cold winter; That the gathering fell a little short of the signees ... so from this day forward I think our best time would be in the Fall and a different venue ...
We had some members to show up early and set up ...(Thanks Blink) ...Had some great food !! and some great info and stories ... Here are some pic's of Randy (Alphahawk) holding school with some great info ... Also Merv's Daughter displaying Her catch for the Day !!!
Again Great food and fellowship .... <'TK><

Thanks for puttin on the gathering. Wish I could have gotten there earlier, I always enjoy listening to the more experienced fishermen telling of their experiences.
If I could, I'd hang with that group EVERYDAY.

The little I was there was a blast. Glad to see old friends and meet new! People are busy these days!
Sorry you didn't like the Venue TK. I was just trying to save some people some money by getting a free spot. We brought in those tables and cleaned the shelter at work on Friday. I thought with the pond there it would be great, But oh well.

Mike, We thought that the shelter was as nice as any around and the location near the pond was great and really appreciate your efforts .. The reason for the Venue statement .. was because I had a number of members PM me and stated that that would really like to attend and some had signed up ... And was planning on arriving a little later in the afternoon do to other family commitments ... The logistics for scheduling seemed to be the rub being we were down town Nashville ... This was a learning curve ... We have never had a Spring Gathering before ... It is different than in the Fall ...
Now a Fall Gathering Maybe, when the kids are back in school and not so many weddings, vacations , etc. ... Shelby Park would be ideal .... <'TK><

I thought the park venue was great.
And Sophia got to play in the playground, then tell Daddy where to co to catch some fish (she really did say to go to the other end of the lake) so I was more than happy with it. Just sorry I wasn't able to get there sooner.

Lawana Walker's Baked Bean's ..<'TK><
1 Large Green Pepper (chopped)
1 Large Onion (chopped)
1 LB. pound of Ground beef... We use Chuck do to the Heart..
Sauté .. Pepper, onion, and Ground beef... Drain fat after the sauté ..
3 cans of Pork and Beans (name brands ..Campbell's /Van Camp ..)
1/2 to 1 cup Light Brown sugar ...
1/2 to 1 cup Dark Karo Syrup ..
NOTE ... Start with 1/2 cup and work up for sweetness ... Personal taste !
1 to 1 1/2 cups of ketchup ... personal taste ...
Salt and pepper to taste ... Lawana is not a salt lover ... So she doesn't hardly use any ... I love the salt Gods !! ... But be careful Don't bounce the salt against the sweetness ... It seems the sweetness that makes the beans so goooooooood... !! .... Oh I left this out ... Mix together and heat 5 to 10 min's..<'TK><

The food and company was great. I know everyone has very busy lives, but I want to tank everyone who did come. The food was great, the baked beans were amazing. It was good meeting some newer members I hadn't met before, and it was great seeing friends. I want to thank everyone who come, everyone who brought stuff, and especially Jeff Smith of Trout Magnet for all his generous donations.
We had a lot of conflicts with this gathering. I would like to step back and see what we could do differently to make this better, it is something that will continue.
Something that has been mentioned is changing the date, changing the venue, if there are any other ideas I would like to hear them. Please speak out and let us know your thoughts. This can only be made better with everyone's input.
I will leave this stickied for a few more days then unsticky it.
