I would enjoy it, put me down. I have a small Jon boat, but would be happy catfishing on the bank, bass fishing with someone else, or fishing my Jon boat. Aslong as I am fishing!

The rules stand as they are! You will have a diversity of anglers fishing for different species. So it would not be right to tell one he can use live bait for catfish and the other that they can only use artificial.

Smile Tourney .... <'TK><

Okay, seems like we have got a lot of interest going here and already folks are jocking for position as far as baits, tackle etc.

First I will be in Missouri at an Old Outboard swap meet on June 23rd.
Secondly this forum was set up for all type of fisherman, panfish, gamefish, roughfish, bank fisherman, fly guys, Bass boats, Yaks etc.

But it seems it is leaning towards a Bass tourney ... I will not support this in it's present state... It should be open to live or artificial bait, any kind of rod, pole, jugs etc ... anything that is legal.

Hope to have a picture displayed soon for the decals ... <'TK><

TK you are not allowed to jug fish on the weekends during these times, due to boat traffic. At least that is the way it use to be.

In my experience with other get togethers of this type, the tournament should be as inclusive as possible. The real benefit to this type of thing is having fun and making new friends that share our love of fishing. I've made lifetime friends at these types of things, guys I ended up fishing thousands of hours with. I like winning as well as the next guy, but I'll be just as happy to hand my $10 over to whoever has the lucky hand that day, regardless of what kind of fish is caught.

I enjoy bass fishing from a boat with artificual lures, just as much as castnetting shad for catfishing along a river bank. I know some people turn up their nose to catfishing, or bank fishing. For these "Special People" maybe you could hold separate events. Maybe spring time do a bass fisherman get together, summer do a Catfishermen get together? IDK just an idea. But I would keep all gatherings open to any members, just theme the gatherings. The Catfish gathering or the Crappie gathering and so on. FYI But you cant BBQ on a bass boat, so the Catfish Gathering will be a sucess I'm sure. LOL! "Can't we all just get along?"
