I wouldn't argue with that. They have not approached or offered yet. We still have about a month left, and some great prizes to boot.

A big thanks to everyone who has stepped up especially the guides to take their personal time and donate it to someone whom they do not know. The way its going everyone will come out with something, fishing related or not.

Just added a Snow Spin tackle package, and FLW Tournament Angler Chris Snow ½ off Guided trip on Center Hill. All sponsorships and donated monies are welcome. We are going to have some great raffles so remember to bring some cash.

Put me down for the dinner and raffle, if room is still available, the attendance thread is closed.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris I added you to the dinner.

I closed the attendance thread so it wouldn't get garbled with information, and so we could have one thread "this one" for discussion. If anyone is planning on attending please let me know. The dinner is primarily for anglers and sponsors.

Default Parking

Ok we need to talk logistics here fellas. For those who don't know, there is very limited parking at Coles Ferry Ramp which is where we will all want to park to get to GSP quickly. By limited, I mean 6-7 vehicles probably at the most. This means there are going to be a lot of annoyed people getting there, realizing there is no parking, and having to drive 20 min to Bulls Creek Ramp behind Flippers which looks to be a few miles along the water away from GSP and I doubt many want to make that paddle twice. There is also a bass tourney that day where people launch out of that ramp. We have to consider the real possibility that there may not be parking at that ramp either.

Carpooling might not be a bad idea. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee so I have plenty of room for one other angler if you have a good method to stack two yaks on top. If so, I'm willing to drive someone.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

I know some people will be arriving early to get some pre-fishing in. I'm hoping some of those people will take up a few spots. Then when others get there we can double park, or triple park if the vehicles are small enough. Also there have been people parking along the road that leads to the ramp, and there is also a dead end road right up from the ramp called Blair Road that it looks like 6-8 vehicles can park along. What we will have to do is have people unload their stuff and get their vehicle clear as soon as possible.

Also I thought the Bass Tournament guys had to launch out of Flippers?

Yes and Bull Creek is the ramp behind Flippers. That's why I brought this up. And honestly I don't think many are going to want to paddle from Bull Creek all the way to GSP...twice. Especially if it's a windy day and not to mention having to deal with the swarm of tournament bass boats...they tend to not be the most considerate of kayakers. I don't see triple parking being an option, maybe a few double parked spots at Coles Ferry but that won't accommodate the 30+ anglers. I just don't want several of us to be annoyed when we show up at GSP and can't park so maybe leave the option to put in at other spots on Old Hickory and still abide by the same rules (fishing time, species, etc.). Bull Creek may very well be full because of the tourney and even if it's not, I don't think anyone wants to make that paddle. Cuts into too much fishing time.

There is a ramp on steam plant road that isn't as far to the steam plant as flippers but it's still over a mile. It looks like it will hold as many cars as you need and it's on the other side of the steam plant.............woody

This ramp is on the TVA property ... It is upstream of the skimmer dike of the water intake filter plant ... I have used it many times in my commercial fishing days .(Plus I worked there)... A lot of parking ... And at the end of the day will be glad to tow any yaks back upstream because I know you must be worn out ... If that is permissible rules wise ... I will launch at Cherokee but will be on hand all day as your safety boat and may get in a little fishing !! <'TK><

Thank you TK, I'll let everyone know. I will allow people to be safely towed back to their respective vehicles.

TK, post a map or coordinates for that ramp on TVA property you mentioned for those of us who are directionally challenged.
