I would like to fish the williamsport lake. I have never been on it but I have friends down that way that have fished it and said there are some nice fish in it. I will be in culleoka this weekend but I will be bow hunting and attending a wedding saturday night so I am booked solid.

So I was there to fish and meet some kayak fisherman. Didn't enter the 'event' since I was going to have to be off the lake by 6:45. So how did it finish up? Any photos?

09/24/13 Jefferson Springs Kayak Event Summary
Last night we had our best turnout yet out of Jefferson Springs on the upper end of Percy Priest. Fifteen Anglers and three guys who didn’t fish showed up to check it out. Everything ran smoothly and everyone was on the water by 1715, and off by 2000 just as planned. All the lights on the water from the kayaks was awesome to see. We had our first lady angler, some new faces along with five or six regulars who have made it to every event. We had three or four cancel with things that had popped, maybe afraid of getting wet, or having a female out fish them? The weather started off great and then around 1900 the rain/drizzle settled in.
Coming in 3rd place was Ron Champion with 26” and taking home $22.50, and there was a tie for 1st place with 27.25”. The tie was between Craig Dye, and Sarah Meier, and the tie breaker was the largest fish and that was by Craig Dye with a 15” largemouth. Craig ended up taking big fish overall and 1st place with a total of $155 which is the best purse yet. Sarah Meier took 2nd place with her best of two fish being 14”, and taking home $37.50.
Congratulations to all anglers who participated, and we have something new. We have a HAWG BOUNTY that is currently at $75 and will continue to grow with each HAWG TROUGH purchased at the events. The way to win this HAWG BOUNTY is be the first to catch a 20”+ Black Bass in one of these events.
There were 16 fish caught for a total of 190.25”, and total monies paid out was $215.
1st Craig Dye
2nd Sarah Meier
3rd Ron Champion
4th Scott Fuji
5th Jonathan Handley

I did not know I placed 5th, It was a rough night last night but I had fun. I am looking forward to fishing some more events it was definitely a test of patience for me on Learning to fish effectively out of a kayak. Next time I am learning to stand up and fish........ I'm just going to make sure it's in shallow water. I am game for any events around middle lake or southern areas of priest.

Yeah Jonathan you placed 5th, I cleaned up my spreadsheet today and I'm keeping a lot of stats for every event to see what works best.
Guys that didn't catch anything, don't feel bad because I didn't get a bite. To me it's not about catching fish and winning money, it's about making friends, and having fun. I'm trying to do these events as relaxed and fun as possible. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to shoot them my way.
I'll send you my snail mail TK.
OK you asked for it.
So here it is
The next event is Tuesday October 8th at Station Camp Creek on Old Hickory. We will have registration at 5p, I'll be there earlier, and launch at 5:15p and check in at 8pm
130 Douglas Bend Road
Gallatin, TN 37066 36.34809, -86.514432
Best two black bass, Hawg Trougs will be available for sale
Entry $10, optional Big Fish $5
We're putting a seperate bounty on a Hawg the only speculation is you have to use a HAWG TROUGH
