If you've got the money to run that unit, you've got the money to take Randy's class on it. Using that unit without Randy's class is like buying the Space Shuttle without an owner's manual.

I'm late to commenting on this thread. I have the Lowrance Gen 2hds units for a few years now with no complaints. A 7 at the helm and a 5 at the bow.

Lowrance Elite series models are quiet powerful and offers great features. I used lowrance elite 7 ti and the Sidescan is amazing. but i can't use chirp and sidescan at the same time. that's too bad .

Im out in crossville for a few days and here are some screen shots of one of the lakes. Grass beds with scattered timber mixed in.
Took 10 casts and put 6 bass in the boat on cranks. Nothing big, but just piddling around while the kids swam.
Gonna be a HOT few nights.

I turned down the picture quality on my phone to reduce thier size so the pictures are showing up grainy.

When the beds are 80-100 feet off to the side and you can very clearly see them, and then look closer and see fish on them!!!!! I was super impressed!!!
