I don't know the weight but you think, 5 1/4 ounce heads, 5 4-5" swim baits plus the rig. I know throwing the flash mob is rough

I've gone to a single hooked bait on my trolling rigs. Double hook-ups on a single rig are a blast they bend the rigs up pretty good and are much more likely to break off jigs while thrashing against each other. I don't feel that it has had too much effect on catch rate as 85% of the fish come on the trailing bait anyway. I don't see too much harm in having as many arms with teasers as you want.

I was told the rules changed after the video was made and a 5 arm rig with just 3 hooks is perfectly legal

http://s1276.photobucket.com/user/ag...tml?sort=3&o=3Mike is right.
2013 they changed the rules to no limit on blades, teaser baits, etc. The law is three hooks per line and that can be single, double or treble hooks, a treble counting as one hook.
I throw A-Rigs with thirteen willow leaf blades, two teasers and three sassy shad bodies on 1/8 oz 5/0 hooks.
Last time I went out I got to watch a 25 lb rockfish come blasting in from the side and engulf one of the swimbaits. I was retrieving slow and the rig was about 6 inches under the water, 10 feet from my rod tip.
Quite a memorable sight to say the least.

Here are three versions that I use.
I also use some with no spinners, just three arms with baits. I have three bladed, four bladed, seven bladed, eight bladed, 11 bladed, thirteen bladed and lastly, fourteen bladed.
I am in the process of trying them all to see what works best in what situation.
I used the fourteen bladed with two teasers and three baits to catch a 25 lb'er a coupla weeks ago.
Woody gave me three spinner baits with 4 inch willow leaf blades that I put on a four bladed rig. So that will be four small willow leaf blades, three large willow leaf blades and three 1/2 oz jigheads with shad bodies (not pictured here), but I haven't had an opportunity to try them out just yet. I do believe they will be killers for stripers, hybrids and large bass.

I have to say this, medium heavy rods don't get it with those rigs. I had to go out and buy heavy action 8 ft rods.
You still can't get a lot of distance, just too much wind resistance.
But, you will get a fish's attention when it hits the water!
I've got some new swimbaits that I'm itchin to try but Sumner county keeps cancelling school because some of the roads in northern Sumner county are still iced in too bad. That keeps me at home watching the little one while Mama sleeps after working the night shift.
It looks like I'll get to go out on Wednesday morning with my new striper partner. We'll be looking for some stripers to catch to win a tournament this coming Saturday.

Its hard for me to cast them well while seated in a kayak.
Since you have 8ft rods with assuming a good long handle be sure to use both hands / pivot point while casting. If not wear your arms out possibly tear something Merv. Check out some musky fishermen casting or ask mnfisher because they perfected the "easy on you" way to chuck heavy 3,4,5oz baits.

Throwing them while seated in a yak sucks. I fished the flash mob last time I was out and just got tired of throwing it after 20 cast or so.

Granted, and point taken.
The multi-spinner A-rigs will tire a body out.
This is one reason I have a 1/2 ounce jighead tied on a different rod with a 6 inch fluke. When I get worn out, or at least weary, from throwing the heavy rig, I switch over to this setup. AND, it will catch just as many, if not more, stripers than the heavy A-rigs.
I usually have at least three different rod/reel, line, bait combos set up so I can just lay one down, pick up a different combo and keep on. I usually have one setup with a topwater bait such as a jumpin minnow, or redfin, or zara spook, or slammin Sammy ready in case the stripers start busting on the surface.
And as all the posters on here will agree, some days you catch them and some days you don't. But there is always the thrill of the chase!
I think it would get to be mundane, boring, if they were always there, always biting, always being caught. To me, when pleasure fishing, not guiding a client, it is always a great thrill to feel that sudden stop in the reeling and seeing and hearing that spool spin backwards, not knowing if you'll get the fish to the net, how big it is, or if your setup is strong enough for whatever it is that is taking your line off your reel like it has no intention of stopping.
Once I have tricked the fish into taking my lure, I have had the thrill of "FISHING"...... and, catching, photographing, and releasing it is anticlimatic.
It's the thrill of the hunt, the chase and the eventual battle between man and creature that intrigues me. The submission of the quarry is least of the equation.
My hope is, most of the time, to have a successful release of the vanquished so it may live to fight another day and give another angler the thrill of battle, the satisfaction of a good fight and successful release.
I have kept stripers in the past and will keep stripers in the future. This, I believe, is every fisherman's choice and I begrudge no man the right to keep his legal limit but also implore folks to kill and keep no more than you can use and enjoy.
It's a wonderful fishery we Tennesseans have here and I hope everyone recognizes the great job done by our TWRA agency. They work hard to provide US fantastic fisheries throughout the state, from east to west, from largemouth bass to crappie to striper/hybrids.
TWRA, I salute you and thank you for doing what you do!
And to all my fellow FishingTN.com'ers may your next trip be your best trip!

We are going to go for bass early in the AM just for grins and giggles and then switch over to the hunt for stripers, moreso than hybrids after the prime time for bass.
We are going to be looking for two big fish for the tournament, rather than for numbers. We are going to try to win that tournament.
Can't know which area we'll be targeting, probably much of the lake as it will be a 10 hour tournament and we'll be using ALL tactics and locations.
Any ideas, hints?
I gotta be secretive since JKTrevecca will be fishing the same tournament against us....SILLY BOY! Thanks for the donation, Jason!
