Water at Hamilton creek was fairly clear. maybe 2' vis.
I caught 2 fish. Pumpkinseed and Drum on crankbaits....
i fished a shaky head for a while and bluegill were biting the tail off my worm.
Oh and Jimmy i think i am gonna pass on tomorrow. Coworkers are taking me out tonight for drinks so i will probably sleep in tomorrow. Hope you have better luck than me!

I have no idea how to fish deep, especially without electronics. i just blindly throw deep cranks and every once in a while i will pull out a fish.

No sir! Give me the depths over shallow any day!
IN fact, i was at Academy 2 weekends ago and they had thier Strike 10XD's on sale. Reg. 14.99, i got a sexy shad for $7.98. Ofcourse now im gonna have to drop another $100 on a rod/reel that can cast that monster! LOL.
3/16 oz. bitsy jig, 18-25ft of water = Heaven!

That's a good deal on the 10XD. I picked up a skeet reese rod last year for deep cranking, it's the 7'10" with a diawa 4:9:1 reel for fishing those big crank baits. That 3/16 is a bit small for my liking. The smallest I will go is 1/4 shaky head, I do have 3/16 but I fish those shallow.

Deep water, heat of summer, small jigs with bulkier skirts and trailers have a really slow fall that tempts even the most stubborn beasties into biting.
that thing looks big in the package, but once you have it in your hand its insane how big that thing is. the lip on it is bigger than most deep divers i own! LOL

Seems like nobody is having any luck at Hamilton. Several of us have prefished it more than once and only caught one or two fish.
No worries about tomorrow, I've actually changed plans and am meeting Craig to fish the Cumberland River tomorrow morning. See you Tuesday at Hamilton.

You know I ask you guys about water conditions and I don't even think I am going to be able to get out and fish until tues, wed, or Thursday now. I know the water will be cleared up by then.
