I personally know Rusty, he is a great fisherman, way better than me, I just do not think of him as a professional fisherman. My brother deals with what I deem professional fishermen pretty much everyday, he is the service tech for the bassmaster elites.

In the bass-fishing industry it is assumed that the words “professional bass angler” refer to one who derives his livelihood from bass fishing.

><SALTY>
really? What about the professional walleye trail?

I just get tired of everyone being a "pro fisherman". The true pros to me are the bassmaster elites when it comes to bass fishing.

Thumbs up "HeadHunter"

It seems like my head is the one your trying to hunt right now for some reason? Its OK that you have your own definition of "ProAngler" many people do. In my eyes Rusty is a pro, he is an outstanding fisherman that gets complimentary gear to rep in the fishing industry, While many that are not Pro pay for what he reps. He fishes in pro tournaments against other pros. Not to mention if you ever had the opportunity to fish with him the knowledge that pores out of him about the details of fishing strategy is simpily amazing!
Hope that clarifies what I put across.
PS I do understand what you mean by people who claim to be pro that are not.

Most amateur fishing trails define them as an earnings amount or card they carry:

"Pro’s are defined as anyone carrying a membership to any professional level event( ie, PAA, BASS, FLW etc.), or anyone earning $7000.00 in winnings in the year prior to a certain year."

Its all subjective. The NBA are pros as are joe couldnt make its playing in lower russia from here.
