Ed, are you using a flouro leader or just the 2# SOS only?

Andy
I use this 75% of the time in 6X. http://www.amazon.com/Seaguar-Grand-...ef=pd_sim_sg_2 It has a diameter of less than SOS 2 lb test.
The other time I use 7X from T M.
I start out with around a 4' piece because when I am catching nice size trout I re-tie after 6 fish.

And Ed, my wife would flip out if I bought that setup you have. She would have to miss out on all those clothes... (I'm glad she's not reading this...)

Thanks Ed. That is some mighty fine line there.

Here are a few lures that I use when conditions won't allow the TM. I can't stress a flouro leader enough though, even with these... Ask me how I know. LOL

Could be the rod action.....reel not being spooled correctly.....length of rod....theoretically the longer the rod the further the cast.... But that is only part of it. Would be hard for me to say without seeing your setup and casting. I use 6 foot to 7' 2" rods for casting. They have fast tips. I use a 9 foot for a float rod. I do know casting a TM in the wind can be very frustrating that is one of the reasons I bought some tungsten jig heads. But they are expensive and there are other lures to use when the wind is really bad.

I use that when the fishing gets tough. It can make a huge difference...but as much as I fish I only go to it when the trout are really slow. Since I use a fluro leader for all of my fishing the cost is too much for me to use on crappie...Gills and Smallies....but it is some good stuff.
