oh yeah I know Jad bass is pretty good and has a good fillet on it, Growing up we kept everything to eat. The rest of my family fishes and thinks I am crazy for not keeping my fish. My mom has told me to bring all my fish to her so she can eat them.

I'm not a fan of making fish taste entirely like what you cooked them in but I've also never tried white bass with the red meat. I was told to cut it out and I always do.

Juice - The green bass species have a good chunk of meat on them so keeper size (15+ inches in most lakes) wouldn't be a waste of time at all to clean. Just two keeper bass is a solid meal-size serving of protein for me and my wife. A couple crappie, yea it's more work than it's worth.
I am a strict catch and release bass fisherman, but I eat them if they swallow my soft plastic. Everybody says they taste fishy, but I kind of like them. Plus when they die with a hook in their gullet it bleeds them out.

Well, as anyone reading my posts know, my wife and I love to eat bass, SM and LM....and white bass.

I will keep enough for us to have a "supply" on hand, but not a freezer full as some guys I know. Lots of times when folks go fishing with me, I'll let them take the entire catch home with them as I can (usually) go out and catch more if we run low.

We just ate the last of the saugers and walleye this week so I'm hoping to get out and find a few here shortly.

I have no problem with anybody keeping any species of fish as long as they are legally caught, legal length and legal amount. The state has folks who have studied the catch rate and know what the sustainability of the fisheries are. This is how the bag limits are applied.

Good luck to all.....and may SAMBOLIE not be fishing near you!

How many times do I have to tell you?
Those fish with the small mouth and gold bodies are carp and not small mouth bass.
The round fish with a snout and teeth are gar and not sauger or walleye.

Sambolie, I wish I could have you in the boat to help me identify the fish......but if you were, I'd never catch any fish to identify!

Such a quandary!
