During this time of year he isnt open all the time. May want to call and check and see. I know he doesnt carry shiners and I think only crickets for live bait but I doubt he has any of those right now. He may have some crawlers.

If you're coming from Nashville get em at Starkeys... They are one the the last bait shops left in Nashville.

Thanks guys, I have not been by Starkys in a while I live in Lebanon. I seen where a guy posted on this site a while back that moved his shop from Baxter to Cookeville. Has anyone been by there yet?

I highly recommend Starky's as a bait shop. It's a stone's throw off of I-40, and he usually carry's minnows in a few different sizes, as well as other bait/tackle.

I haven't been over to the Caney since the summer, but right before you get to the market on the right hand side is a fellow with old antique stuff scattered all over. He used to have a minnow tank on the porch, I never bought any but used to stop buy often to see what kind of deals he had on rods, reels and baits.

I forgot about that guy. He's roughly across from the Canoe the Caney people and has been there forever. Didn't know he still sold stuff but we used to buy bait there probably 20 years ago.
